Connectedness to place and space is particularly important in Māori culture, but sometimes is just as important for non-māori. We can all feel a connection to where you are from and a sense of where you belong. Sometimes this connection becomes most apparent when we move away from this space and have a longing feeling to return. A connection to a place can make us feel grounded and safe. But you don’t have to be in that place to feel that sense of connection. If you live far away from the place that you feel most connected, you can connect with that place through other means such as
