2015 Ferrari Cavalcade in Support of GICI
On 3 May, the Ferrari Owners Club of New Zealand will hold a historic Ferrari Cavalcade event as a fundraiser for GICI. It will feature 35 Ferraris, including six Supercars; the 250GTO, 288GTO, F40, F50, Enzo and the iconic La Ferrari.
Nowhere in the world has a collection of the six Ferrari supercars been seen on public roads, let alone as part of a Cavalcade with 30 other Ferraris over 130 kilometres. The cars will assemble in central Auckland, shadowed by a helicopter, and will cross the Harbour Bridge before taking a series of back roads leading to the RNZAF Whenuapai. Once there, the Ferraris will form into the shape of the GICI logo, surrounded by the Supercars, and will be photographed in an aerial shot. A lunch will follow, during which the Ferrari Owners Club will present GICI with a cheque to help us continue our efforts to improve gastro-intestinal cancer outcomes.
Twenty six rides in the Ferraris are being auctioned on TradeMe, with all proceeds going to GICI. The lucky winners will get to ride in the Ferrari Cavalcade in their chosen car, and will also be given a personalised decal commemorating the event, a framed photograph of the Ferrari aerial shot, and a genuine Ferrari cap personally signed by NZ’s own Ferrari F1 driver; Chris Amon.
The Ferrari Owners Club recognises GICI as an under-recognised charity whose mission impacts the lives of its members and the community at large. The club has organised the Ferrari Cavalcade as a dream day for car enthusiasts that will hopefully bring funding and awareness to this worthy cause.
Members of the public are encouraged to bid at trade.me/2015ferraricavalcade for the ride of a lifetime!
