Thank you to our GIVE IT UP Fundraisers
As we come to the close of our 2nd GIVE IT UP for Gut Cancer campaign, we want to thank each and every one of our incredible fundraisers, donors, and campaign partners who made this such a success. After a brilliant first year, 2022 saw nearly 800 Kiwis sign on to GIVE UP sugar, alcohol, or the sofa for the month of March.
With support from our campaign partners, 4 Wheels of Health, and personal trainer Aviv Jones, our team of 800 raised over $175,000 in support of our mission to fund innovative research, be the voice of cancers of the digestive system, and provide vital information and education to improve and save the lives of all New Zealanders affected by gut cancer. With nearly 3,000 individual donors supporting the campaign we are humbled by the outpouring of generosity we’ve seen throughout the last couple of months.
There were some outstanding individual and collective efforts along the way with top individual fundraisers, Colleen, Jason, and Hillary raising $13.5k between them! Each and every individual taking part has made a difference. Whether it’s a one-off donation or a contribution like Colleen, Jason, and Hillary, every single cent makes a difference.
We are incredibly grateful for the wonderful support of our corporate partners who contributed so much to this year’s campaign. After raising over $24k last year, Turners Automotive staff came to the party once again raising over $18,000 in total. And with Turners Group operating a very generous donation matching scheme, that brings their total contribution over the last 2 years to over $80,000! An incredible effort from the wonderful team at Turners.
A big shout out also to the teams at Ground Project Gym, Francis Health, Roche, Mountain Adventure, and Edge Fitness for their fantastic support of this year’s GIVE IT UP.
Finally, a special thanks must go to our partners at Kiwi Car Loans and Credit One. If raising over $3,000 in fundraising wasn’t enough, alongside their digital advertising agency AdTourque Edge, they donated their time and expertise to support our fundraising team. Their support was integral to GIVE IT UP’s success and we are so grateful for their wonderful dedication to the cause.
The GIVE IT UP for gut cancer campaign has quickly become the cornerstone of our fundraising efforts. Thanks to the enthusiasm and commitment of our supporters, GIVE IT UP is establishing itself in the calendar and will be a fixture for years to come. But we can’t afford to stand still. We are working tirelessly to engage with our supporters to understand how we can improve the campaign and look forward to raising even more vital funds for Kiwis with a gut cancer in 2023.
